Intense Pulse Light

Fort Collins IPL Photofacial with Harmony Skin & Wellness Center

Let's talk about skin problems caused by aging, pollution, & sun damage! The solution? Harmony Skin & Wellness Clinic's IPL therapy in Fort Collins, CO. Our non-invasive Photofacial treatment uses high-intensity light pulses to reduce fine lines, fade sun spots, and even out skin tone.

Say hello to youthful, even-toned skin! The IPL Photofacial treatment is a non-invasive procedure that uses short pulses of high-intensity light to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture and tone. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, IPL therapy can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, fade sun spots and hyperpigmentation, and even out skin tone.

Light of Your Life

What is IPL Photofacial?

The IPL procedure, also commonly known as “PhotoFacial,” uses both intense light energy and radio frequency in the same pulse. The general improvement in skin texture, tone, and color is dramatically better than seen with other skin rejuvenation treatments using only light. These procedures are truly an advancement in the non-surgical, non-invasive treatment of aged skin. The results can include smoother, clearer, healthier, more youthful-looking skin that does not have the look of cosmetic surgery or laser surgery*.

Eliminating Environmental Damage

What are the benefits of IPL Photofacial?

In Fort Collins IPL Photofacial treatment uses gentle pulses of light combined with low electrical energy to help improve the appearance of the skin. Brown spots (pigmented imperfections) from sun damage and aging, red blotchiness from spider vessels or rosacea (vascular imperfections), and uneven skin texture can improve over a series of treatments*.

Even Tone

Your IPL Photofacial Procedure

Application of a topical anesthetic is applied at Harmony Skin & Wellness Clinic one hour prior to your treatment time.

Photo-damaged skin with predominantly brown spots usually responds well to three treatment sessions performed three to four weeks apart. Rosacea, red vessels, and capillaries usually respond well to four to five treatment sessions performed three weeks apart. The total treatment time for IPL is approximately 45 minutes to one hour, depending on the number of areas treated.

IPL Photofacial Results

The amount of time your results will last depends on the amount of sun you expose your skin to. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the sun after your IPL treatment, especially without proper UV protection, you will see a return of discoloration that was removed by the procedure. We always recommend a continued regimen of using pigment correcting products and always recommend a high-quality sunscreen is applied daily. If the skin is properly taken care of and protected, the results can be long-lasting.

After Treatment

IPL Photofacial Recovery and Aftercare

Brown spots may darken and slough off over a five to seven-day process*. During your course of treatment, and for at least three months following your final procedure, you should be conscientious to use a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.

Following their IPL Photofacial Fort Collins patients can continue to wear cosmetics during the time between treatments. We do recommend mineral-based powder makeup. Having a Microdermabrasion™ or HydraFacial MD® Procedure in between your IPL Photofacials can increase the efficacy of your laser treatment as these procedures help to speed your cell turnover and help to slough the top-most layer of the epidermis allowing the light energy to penetrate more deeply.

When considering these treatments, please be sure to schedule four to six weeks prior to any special event or extended travel plans.
